Gingerbread men

Our Shared Book this week was The Gingerbread Man.  Today, we made gingerbread men just like the one in the story. 
"We squished the mixture flat" said Janna
"We used a gingerbread man cutter to make the shape" said Zara
"Some people used raisins for the eyes" said Ella
"After we cooked them, we put lollies on for buttons and icing on for eyes, noses and mouths" said Blake.
"They tasted nice" said Jayden



Brock said "They tasted super duper yum!"

    The gingerbread man ran away from the little old man and the little old woman.You can't catch me he said. I'll run and run as fast as I can.
    Is this the same story that I read when I went to School?
    The Gingerbread Man should go in the Cross country! Did your gingerbread men jump out of the oven? Did your men taste good? Did you eat his eyes? Great stuff Room 1

      We think it is the same book that you read. We kept the oven door shut, so that they couldn't jump out. I saved my man so I could show mum, and then I ate it. It tasted yummy! From Cooper in Room 1

    Wow you guys are so lucky that you got those treats. What was your favourite part about making gingerbread? I think I might have to come and look next time.

    Great cooking room 1. They sound yummy. I can see you guys used lots of different colours for the buttons.I never knew that you guys are such clever cookies. Can you remember all the ingredients you used to make the gingerbread men?

      The gingerbread men were made from.... butter, flour, ginger, baking soda, brown sugar. Then we used icing pens and pebbles to decorate them. From Ella

    Yummy! I didn't know you made gingerbread cookies. Where did you get the recipe from? I want to make some gingerbread cookies, could you give me a recipe?

      Mrs Coleman found the recipe on the computer. She used 'google'. You could find it on your computer too! :) From Brock
